Deputy Manager – Learning Disabilities

We’re recruiting a capable and organised Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager, with a strong focus on rota management, recruitment, and digital care systems.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be expected to lead from the front and support both people and systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service

  • Acting as Manager on Duty when required

  • Managing and maintaining staff rotas, ensuring safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mix

  • Supporting recruitment, including shortlisting, interviews, onboarding, and induction

  • Ensuring care plans, risk assessments, and daily records are reviewed, accurate, current, and person-centred

  • Leading on incident reporting, learning, and follow-up actions

  • Promoting a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture

  • Supporting CQC compliance, audits, and inspections

  • Building effective relationships with families and professionals

About You

Essential:

  • Experience in a senior role within learning disabilities or adult social care

  • Experience using digital care planning systems

  • Ability to manage rotas and staffing effectively

  • Confidence supporting recruitment and onboarding

  • Strong understanding of CQC expectations

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience using PCS (Person Centred Software)

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards Level 5)

  • Confidence using digital rota or HR systems

  • Experience supporting audits or inspections

If you haven’t used PCS before but are confident with digital systems, full training will be provided.
